Synopsis:

The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius as war looms on the horizon. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves at odds with those who don’t.

With her heart sworn to the warrior-prince by her side, and her fealty pledged to the people she is determined to save, Aelin will delve into the depths of her power to protect those she loves. But as monsters emerge from the horrors of the past, and dark forces become poised to claim her world, the only chance for salvation will lie in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear.

In this breathtaking fifth installment of the New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series, Aelin will have to choose what – and who – to sacrifice if she’s to keep the world of Erilea from breaking apart.

My Thoughts:

I’m going to keep this review relatively short, mainly because all the reviews for this book have been long (that I’ve seen), and I just wanted a short wrap up (if that’s even possible with this book, i could literally be talking about it forever). Okay before i start talking about the book I’m going to say that I loved it and judged it with my own thoughts on it solely and kept an open mind about it, but of course there are things that I would change and add but I’m not going to get annoyed over them because i don’t direct the book (And what fun would it be if i could predict where it went) so I loved how the book turned out so much!

I really, really loved all the development in a lot of the main characters (Elide, Manon, Aedion, Lysandra etc.) They are all so strong (emotionally, physically and mentally) and have conquered so much, I didn’t even know I could be so proud. But it’s so interesting and exiting to see where they all go and what positions they are in for the next book.

I really loved how Elide drew traits from the thirteen to help her become stronger and use them to her advantage, she became so much smarter in my mind. She was incredibly beautiful and strong and i have sooo much love for her. I also found my self liking Lorcan so much more, and he was a character that i wasn’t really sure that I would care about as much. Just more evidence that Sarah J. Maas creates such complex, emotional and sophisticated characters.

I would of liked to see more of Aelin’s perspective throughout the book, but it made so much more sense why it was written that way in the end. Also while i was reading it there were parts where I wanted more to happen during the book (I still loved it but i wanted morrreee) but that also made so much more sense when it was reveiled in the end. But can we talk about the end. THE END! It was just so emotional and amazing and so much built up to it and the charters, and i was just torn apart and broken and the only thing keeping me together is the next book and ACOWAR. I’m practically crying while writing this (even if i read it so long ago). But i was almost happy with how it turned out because if it didn’t happen it wouldn’t be realistic, BUT IT’S JUST TOO MUCH FOR ME TO HANDLE!

There is so much i want and could to talk about, and so many characters i want to discuss, but i said i would keep this very short so i’m going to dot points some main loves of mine:

  • The entire freaking book (okay i’ll calm down.)
  • It was just so chokers full of emotion (and destruction of my soul.)
  • The bonds and relations between so many characters.
  • the characters
  • The ridiculous amounts of amazing plot that was just built up so well.
  • It was realistic! things went horribly wrong and the large psychotic part of me loved that!
  • just how it unfolds and builds and my anticipation for the next book is through the roof!

I don’t know what i was thinking, as if anyone could write a short review of this book and do it any justice. And i sure haven’t, the only way you can understand how mind blowing so much of this truly is, is by reading it! Even if you don’t think that it was as good as i do (This series is right up my ally in writing styles, worlds, characters etc.) Its still worth reading. Because this is a written review you can’t see my making crazy hand gestures and weird noises trying to express my feelings, but even them i just can’t get it out. So you will never truly know how much i adore this book.

Without a doubt 5/5
